Program Summary

Since 1976, YFCA specializes in health, saving lives in times of crisis and helping to rebuild shattered health services. Whether the crisis is from natural disasters, conflict, disease or health system collapse, we work within the existing health systems to realize everyone’s right to accessible, appropriate, affordable health care.YFCA owns a Safe Motherhood Specialized Hospital (SMSH) which provides high quality health services for women and children. In addition, we are the first national NGO to deploy mobile clinics to reach hard to access areas in all governorates of Yemen. also provision of nutrition services package through clinic diagnosis that evaluates children status and determines their exact demands in corelation to WFP guidlines and supllies at HFs and regular distribution centers. Integrated referral mechanism for both health & nutrition cases is designed carefully along with cooperation of meant stakeholders, in order to accept and provide the needed care to patients through which healthy community free of disorders is built.Our health & nutrition program is managed by qualified staff with professional experience and background who ensure our program is designed to warrant the quality of services provided and to respond to the surging needs in the sector targeting the most vulnerable population who lack access to adequate health care. Our projects are designed to be in line with the strategic objectives of the respective clusters and with donor requirements to ensure complimentarily of other actors on the ground and also to fill existing gaps as everyone has the right to timely and appropriate healthcare.
YFCA has an accumulative, continuous good experience in both Health and Nutrition /SAG membership and TWGs over the previous rounds of membership.The Health and Nutrition program has been providing services to a number of targeted groups such as poor and vulnerable groups, Internally Displaced People- IDPs, women and children, returnees, refugees, migrants, and marginalized groups.

Interventions

  • Provision of timely, effective, quality and accessible health services for the targeted communities with consideration of patient’s dignity, and confidentiality
  • Support and strengthen the functionality of the existing health system
  • Provide (BEmONC and CEmONC) services at health facilities and referral hospitals
  • Provide comprehensive RH services
  • Provide FP services, emergency and trauma management services
  • Improve the accessibility of newborn and children to vaccinations and healthcare services that addresses the major causes of their morbidity and mortality
  • Responding to outbreaks to reduce mortality rate among vulnerable populations
  • Capacity building activities for health workers
  • Raising community health awareness
  • Contributing in prevention of communicable diseases through timely and effective measures
